Physical commodities · Introducing party

We introduce counterparties who can actually perform.

TJFI connects buyers and sellers of physical commodities. We check what a counterparty can document before we put a name in front of anyone, and we are paid only when a cargo moves.

What we do

Three tasks, and nothing else.

Commodity trading fails on people far more often than on price. Our work is to remove the counterparties who cannot perform, so that the ones who can spend their time on terms instead of on introductions.

01

Origination

We look for the party your requirement actually needs: a producer, a refinery, an allocation holder, a term buyer. Sourcing is done against a written brief, not against a circulating offer sheet.

02

Verification

Company registration, signing authority, evidence of title or allocation, banking relationship, and a track record we can trace. Anything that cannot be documented is treated as absent.

03

Introduction and follow-through

Once both sides are cleared, we introduce them under a signed confidentiality and fee agreement, then stay available until the contract is signed and the first cargo is delivered.

The filter

Most enquiries stop before we make a call.

This is the sequence every enquiry goes through, in both directions. Each checkpoint has a condition that ends the discussion. We would rather tell you at checkpoint one than waste a quarter of your year.

CP-01

Identity

Registered company, current extract from its register, and the person we speak to identified with authority to sign.

Stop conditionNo registered entity, or a signatory who cannot be confirmed.
CP-02

Position in the deal

We establish whether the party holds the goods, holds the funds, or holds neither. Both sides are told which we are dealing with.

Stop conditionA chain of intermediaries with no identified end party.
CP-03

Evidence of supply or demand

For a seller: title, allocation, or a contract with the producer. For a buyer: the consuming or reselling operation behind the requirement.

Stop conditionAn offer that exists only as a circulating document.
CP-04

Commercial terms

Product specification, quantity, delivery basis, delivery window, and a price mechanism that can be reconciled with the published market.

Stop conditionA discount to market that no seller could sustain.
CP-05

Payment and inspection

Payment instrument, issuing and confirming banks, inspection company, and who bears the cost of a failed inspection.

Stop conditionA payment structure that asks one side to pay before any independent check.
CP-06

Introduction

Names are exchanged under a signed agreement covering confidentiality, non-circumvention and our fee. Discussion continues directly between the parties.

Stop conditionRefusal to put the introduction in writing.

The full procedure

Sectors

Where we are useful.

We only work in markets where we can reach the producing or consuming end directly. Everything else is declined rather than passed on.

Refined products

Gasoil and diesel to EN 590, jet fuel, fuel oil and bitumen, on FOB or delivered terms.

Sulphur and fertilizers

Granular and prilled sulphur, urea, ammonia and phosphates, in bulk.

Metals and minerals

Copper, aluminium, iron ore and concentrates, ex works or CIF.

Agricultural commodities

Grains, pulses, sugar and vegetable oils, in bulk or containerised.

How we are paid

A fee on delivered cargo.

If nothing is delivered, we are not paid. That is the whole arrangement.

Our fee is agreed in writing before any introduction, expressed per metric ton or as a percentage of contract value, and payable by the side that mandates us once the goods are delivered and payment has been released. We do not charge retainers, registration fees, listing fees or document fees, and we do not accept a fee from both sides of the same transaction without both parties knowing.

Working rules
  • No offer without a source: we do not forward documents whose origin we cannot trace to the party that issued them.
  • No performance instrument from us: we issue no guarantee, no proof of funds and no proof of product.
  • No payment through us: funds move between the parties and their banks, never through our accounts.
  • One transaction, one chain: we withdraw when a second intermediary layer appears on the same side.
  • We say no in writing: a declined enquiry gets a reason, not silence.
